A custom-built 3D printer made largely from recycled materials, demonstrating the power of maker innovation
Contact for More InfoA maker (like me) is every man/woman who is passionate about building something. The 3D printing concept is naturally linked to any "maker" nature. For a maker, knowledge of the "3D printing Art" is really mandatory.
For a deeper understanding, check out my introduction to 3D printing.
The idea of "Printerina" came from the need to empty my garage and repurpose materials. Using a Geeetech i3X as a base printer for creating components, I embarked on building this custom delta printer.

Parameter | Value | Description |
---|---|---|
BAUDRATE | 250000 | Communication speed with the printer |
MOTHERBOARD | BOARD_RAMPS_14_EFB | Standard configuration for RAMPS 1.4 with Arduino 2560 |
DELTA_DIAGONAL_ROD | 250 | Center-to-center distance of diagonal push rods |
DELTA_PRINTABLE_RADIUS | 100 | Effective print area radius |
Proper rod dimensioning and stabilization is crucial for print quality. We use custom connectors and springs to maintain consistent rod spacing and minimize vibrations.
Tennis balls are used as dampeners at the printer's base to absorb vibrations and improve print quality.
